How Your Money Helps
Sick or Treat is a Rare Cancers Australia (RCA) initiative. Our mission is to improve awareness, support and treatment of Australians with rare and less common cancers. Currently, there is little support for people with a rare cancer. The mortality rate is extremely high, and coupled with the exorbitant financial burden of treatment, most patients struggle to access information and care. This is where RCA steps in.
RCA believes we have a duty to provide an equal level of care to rare cancer patients as well as those with more common cancers. At the very least, we want to give patients and their loved ones just a little more time. We provide information and support to those diagnosed with rare or less common cancers, fundraise for treatment and essential research as well as foster a patient community. We also campaign for affordable and accessible life-saving drugs that will make the current treatment system equitable.
100 per cent of the funds raised through Sick or Treat go directly to fund RCA’s work to improve the lives and outcomes for Aussies living with a rare or less common cancer.
The money you raise will improve:
- Patient support programs
- Treatment and research
- Advocacy programs with government, clinicians and industry for change
All of which aims to improve patient outcomes and increase survival rates.
RCA is a Federal Government-classified Health Promotion Charity. All donations over AU $2 are fully tax deductible.
